The Beauty Tag ♥

Hey beautiful bodies!

So, I was scrolling through the ‘lifestyle’ tag blogs on WordPress and came across this really interesting piece written by Rachel on her site Beauty and The Ballroom called ‘The Beauty Tag’.

Being a grand beauty lover, I couldn’t resist doing this tag! Like any other tag, the rule is to nominate a few people and ask them to do the same thing. However, I am not nominating anybody as anyone reading this post is free to do the tag. ☺️

After a lot of ‘tags’, here it goes…

The Beauty Tag

Do you remember your first makeup item?
Yes! I think any beauty lover would remember this. I had bought myself an eyeliner and a lip gloss at the age of 13.

What kind of coverage do you prefer from a foundation?
Usually I only wear foundation for parties and events hence I don’t bother much with the coverage. But when I do shop for them I mostly look for the ones with medium to high coverage with a dewy finish. (as my skin is pretty dry)

Favourite high-end brand?
I would say Chanel. Their lipsticks are hard to resist.

What cosmetics brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
Guerlain. I have heard some rave reviews about their bronzers. I would really like to try them.

Favourite drugstore brand?
It has to be Rimmel! Rimmel! Rimmel!
I don’t know how I would survive doing my makeup on a budget without this brand’s existence! I love their concealers, eyeliners and the best of all their mattifying powder. If you haven’t tried products from Rimmel, you really ought to. Trust me, you shall not be disappointed!

Do you wear false lashes?
Very very rarely. Only with some full sort of makeup look or so. Also  because I am yet not a pro at applying them 😛 I do own a few from EyLure and they do a pretty good job.

Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?
My eyebrow pencil. I currently use the one from Rimmel and absolutely love it! I feel that eyebrows define your face like no other. No makeup at all, just eyebrows filled in and a lip balm and you are good to go!

What is your most cherished beauty product?
Sephora’s kohl eyeliner pencil. I think I have lost count of the number of times I have repurchased it. It’s my holy grail.

How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there, or get lots of goodies at once?
Let me tell you I am impulsive buyer when it comes to makeup. Something I try and if I like it, chances are I shall purchase it. My mind knows no logic when buying makeup 🙈 I shop for makeup in bits and pieces. Most of the purchases are random for me. It’s more on my mood honestly.

Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely?
I don’t spend freely nor do I have a beauty budget. I fall amongst the lot who usually buy beauty products when in the phase of trying something new. Hence, the buys are once in a while.

Do you utilise coupons, reward cards, and sales when you shop for cosmetics?
I mean who would not want to! Whenever and wherever I can!

What type of product do you buy the most of?
It is really difficult to answer that. Sometimes I would buy products based on necessity and sometimes I would buy them based on just how appealing they look to me. It all so varies.

Is there a brand you absolutely can’t stand?
Tbh, none that I have come across yet. I might have not liked a few brands but not being able to stand them is too extreme.

Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics, like parabens or sulfates?
I try and use products that are as natural as possible. With makeup it does not really work that way for me. However, the shampoo I use to wash my hair is sulfate free. Specifically because I treat and colour my hair quite often.

Do you have a favourite place to shop for makeup?
I love Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. Whilst in the UK, I can’t resist visiting Boots. I sometimes shop online for makeup from the website called Beauty Bay. I would purchase my skincare and makeup products that do not require me to match my skin tone as such.

Do you like trying new skin care products or do you keep a certain routine?
When it comes to my skin I sometimes hesitate to experiment. I have a few skin care products that I want to stick to but again I don’t mind trying new ones. It’s all about being comfortable in this zone.

Favourite bath and body brand?
I actually have two! First, Bath and Body Works for their body lotions and shower gels! Ahh they are so luxurious and a treat to the body. Second one is Lush. Nothing in this world compares to their bath bombs.

What brand do you think has the best packaging?
theBalm Cosmetics any day! The packaging is not only sexy but so cute and interactive.

Do you belong to any online makeup communities?
None at the moment.

Favourite beauty gurus?
I am a massive fan of Kaushal Beauty. Her videos on YouTube are everything a makeup and skincare lover needs! Other than her I really like Kathleen Lights and Tanya Burr.

Do you like multi-functional products like lip and cheek stains?
Any good product which has a multi purpose use is a 10/10 for me!

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Lol, yes! We all are in some ways I guess. I am clumsy with my eye makeup. Just can’t get it right for the first time.

Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
Yes. Although my skin is pretty dry, my eyelids are oily. Hence a primer or base is necessary before I put on any eye shadow. This helps the shadow to last longer and stay in place.

How many hair products do you use on a typical day?
Only the day I wash my hair, apart from shampoo and conditioner I use spray in conditioner and a hair serum followed by the wash and dry. So typically not everyday.

What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
Foundation and then concealer. Isn’t that the correct way to do your base?

Would you ever consider taking makeup classes?
I would love to. In fact, that is one of the things I have on my mind for the next year.

What do you love about makeup?
Everything!

And here I complete the Beauty Tag! Please share links or let me know in comments if you guys do a beauty tag.  I would love to read them! Thank you so much for reading this post through (it’s lengthy and could be a task I know 😅)
