Hey Beautifuls!
If you guys would have been following me on my social media networks, you would know that I am having the time of my life in Toronto! It has proven to be one of the best short trips of the year! 😍 💃 I am having so much fun seeing my friends after three years and reminiscing the old times!
I shall soon be doing a blog post about my trip to Toronto (like a travel diaries sort of thing), so do keep an eye for that one. For now, lets jump on to my travel essentials. The following list of 8 things are usually with me when I travel. Some could be taken along in a carry on while some might need to be checked in (if travelling by airplane).
IDENTIFICATION
The last thing you want to leave back home is your ID. No matter how much of a common sense this might seem, trust me there have been so many times I have left my house without my identification only to realise the same at the airport/train station. 😶
PHONE/LAPTOP CHARGERS
Remember the last time your phone/laptop died and you were digging your bag to find the charger but couldn’t find one? Exactly! You don’t want to get into that situation again. And if travelling abroad, make sure to carry the correct adaptor along.
MEDICAL NECESSITIES
Travelling to a different city, state or a country? Although, you might know the weather conditions of the place it is always safe to carry along the basic medicines. Something for cold & cough, fever, allergies, cuts & burns, headache and, body pain. Believe me you will thank me for this.
A PEN AND PAPER
It is always a good idea to have some pen and paper handy. Although, today airports and major transportation hubs have this facility, you might need it at a time when none is available there. Just say you spotted your favourite celebrity and are squashing through to get their autograph, wouldn’t you be lucky enough carrying some paper and pen? 😎
PAIR OF COMFORTABLE WALKING/RUNNING SHOES
This seems more like a personal choice. But when you have to stand in long queues, run to catch your train/bus/plane, walk thorough those never-ending airport walkways all you wish for that moment is; if you were wearing your favourite comfortable shoes! Don’t regret it, carry it. Or best: Wear it!
TOILETRIES
Nothing can be worse than turning up to your destination without your toiletries. You don’t want to stink, have a bad breath or look like you just take bath once a month. Trust me, travelling can make you look like that. So make sure to carry everything in a suitable toiletries bag: toothbrush, deodorant, creams, shampoo & conditioner (I carry them always), perfume, comb, tweezers & scissors and everything else that will make you look fresh and hygienic.
CASH/CARD
Nothing comes free in this world. And not the best of your travel experiences can be complete without spending a little. So make sure to carry your wallet which I assume shall have cash and all relevant cards you might need during your travel. Last thing you want is to be penniless in a place where you know nobody. A little panicky I say! If using credit/debit cards abroad, make sure to notify your bank of the same. (they sometimes block the card if used from another country)
TRAVEL LOCK
This is really my ‘essential’ tip for travel. Never get going without carrying a travel lock. You would say ‘Why? I don’t have any important stuff in there’. Well, when you travel you do tend to buy stuff while shopping or you might carry things which might not be important but expensive and you don’t wish it to be stolen or lost (things do get stolen, really!). Hence, always a good idea to keep it secure. As they say, precaution is always better than cure!
So here are my travel essentials without which my packing for any trip is incomplete. Let me know what are your travel essentials! Also, do let me know if you want me to write about specific travel essentials like beauty or makeup? Thank you so much for reading through the post:-)
